ARAFAT: A fire that hit several fiberglass tents in Arafat at around 11 a.m. on Sunday was brought under control by Civil Defense firefighters, said Maj. Abdullah Al-Orabi, official spokesman for the Civil Defense in Haj.
“Twenty firefighting teams quickly responded and brought the fire under control before it could spread further,” said Al-Orabi, adding that the area where the fire took place was 1,200 square meters large and had been designated for Egyptian pilgrims.
“The Civil Defense worked hard to bring the fire under control in record time. No one was seriously injured because Arafat was empty. There were only a few Civil Defense officers who were slightly injured. They were treated at the location. We’re still investigating the cause of the fire,” he added – Arabnews
