SRINAGAR: All flights to and from Srinagar have been suspended for three days because of the unrest in the Kashmir Valley.
The decision was made on after a security review which concluded that ferrying the airport staff and passengers to the Awantipora airbase, 32 km from here, was a security risk after a fresh bout of violence left 15 dead and scores injured, officials said.
The flights to Srinagar have been diverted to the Awantipora airbase since September 3 for the resurfacing work at the only civilian airport in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. — PTI
