From time to time we see actors in movies, telefilms and dramas who started as singers but later on took up acting as well. By so doing, we as fans get the opportunity to see our beloved singers who delighted us with their vocals also keeping us entertained with their acting.
Below are top five singers who have turned to acting and are becoming successful in this as well:
1) Fawad Khan
Fawad Khan is considered one of the most popular faces of Pakistani entertainment. From his days as a lead singer in Entity Paradigm, to modelling; its no wonder that Fawad has also added acting to his long list of career achievements. He debuted in 2000 when he was just 19 years of age with the comedy drama “Jutt And Bond”.
His appearance in his first movie, Shoaib Mansoor’s “Khuda Kay liye“, is termed as the revival of Pakistani cinema. Fawad Khan has numerous telefilms and hit dramas to his credit, some of which took Pakistan as well as other countries by storm due to their immense popularity. These include dramas such as “Dastaan” and “Humsafar” have won him numeours awards.
2) Ali Zafar
Ali Zafar is a singer/ composer/ musician of global fame. He not only became one of the most popular Pakistani musicians of his time but also went ahead and is currenlty pursuing a career in acting which is proving to be a very good choice. He has acted in a few Bollywood movies, his first was the critically acclaimed “Tere Bin Laden”. After his debut, his other hit projects include “Meray Brother Ki Dulhan”,
“Chashme Badoor” and “London, Paris, New York“. He is currently working on four more Bollywood movies. So far, his journey as an actor has been a really good one and with so many upcoming movies lined up, it looks as if his acting sayings are going to get better.
3) Junaid Khan
Junaid Khan is the lead singer for Call which is a very popular band both abroad and in Pakistan. He began his acting career in 2012 and has managed to act in more than 5 Pakistani drama serials, most of which have received a lot of appreciation from viewers.
Some of his best performances comprising of different types of roles can be seen in “Mujay Roothnay Na Daina”, “Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu“, “Kadoorat” etc.
4) Goher Mumtaz
Goher Mumtaz is one of the most talented people in the music industry as he is the founder of the renowned band Jal as well as a singer, lyricist and guitarist. We now get to see him try his hands at acting with his debut in “Kountry Luv” and a couple of other dramas.
His work in the drama “Tanhai” as the main lead, has been loved by his fans and non-fans alike. His upcoming project is entitled “Cookie“, a drama written by Umera Ahmed. Hopefully, this drama will take Goher’s acting career to new heights.
5) Atif Aslam
With a music career both in Pakistan and in Bollywood, Atif has a lot going on for him as a singer only. However, he has also gone ahead and taken up a few cameo roles in movies along with a very pivotal role in Shoaib Mansoor’s highly acclaimed movie, “Bol“.
With the kind of acting that Atif is able to undertake, it is very likely that we will get to see him in more projects that involve his acting potential and skills.
