Women around the world would pay millions of dollars to look like Victoria Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio. But as the 31-year-old hit the catwalk for the brand’s annual show her body was not be the most expensive thing on display. Instead it was her gem-studded bra.
Alessandra was given the honour of donning the famed fashion show’s Fantasy Bra – worth a staggering $2.5 million. Re-designed every year, for the 2012 show the Fantasy Bra was covered in intricate flowers made out of a massive 5,200 precious and semi-precious stones. The gems include amethysts, sapphires, rubies and white, pink and yellow diamonds. And, like all good outfits, it of course has a matching accessory, a jewel-encrusted belt.
As she stalked down the runway, then partied with her fellow angel Miranda Kerr, Alessandra looked delighted by her expensive bra. When told she would be wearing the bra designed by Long Islander’s London Jewelers, which features a 20 carat white diamond centerpiece, the model says she was a bit taken aback. ‘I wanted to scream,’ the Brazilian beauty said. ‘But I won’t lie, I was really worried.’ With just hours to spare before the highly anticipated lingerie fashion show, Alessandra posed next to the extraordinary creation.
But if Alessandra had any questions about how to wear the multi-million dollar creation, she didn’t have to go far to ask for help, as the model was snapped with Australian Miranda, who wore the Fantasy Bra last year. The two Angels have more than just the expensive bra in common, the pair are also mums – Alessandra gave birth six months ago and Miranda’s son Flynn is almost two. Dressed in her slinky silk Victoria Secret’s robe, Alessandra does not look like your average mother of two. The stunner looked equally sexy when she turned up to make up and wardrobe Wednesday afternoon. Wearing skin tight leather pants, stiletto boots, a leopard print blazer and a high fashion fur jacket, she proved she didn’t need a $2.5 million bra to turn heads. While other Angels have been busy posing pictures of the extreme workouts and recent wight losses on Twitter, the star of the show is obviously taking things a little less seriously, treating herself to a backstage Starbucks. – Dailymail
