Ahead of her fashion industry reception at 10 Downing Street tomorrow evening, British Fashion Council ambassadress Samantha Cameron made her first front row appearance of the season at the Peter Pilotto show this morning.A firm fan of the label – she wore one of the directional brand’s dresses to meet with America’s First Lady, Michelle Obama, earlier this year – Cameron was not put off by the show’s 9am start time.

Perhaps she is searching for some last-minute ideas for what to wear to tomorrow’s bash, as she was later spotted next to BFC chairman Harold Tillman at Scottish designer Christopher Kane’s spring/summer 2012 show – where rapper turned ready-to-wear designer Kanye West was also in attendance. In a statement released by the BFC, Cameron said that London Fashion Week shows “bring so many important global industry figures and business to our capital, it’s fantastic to see the impact the industry has on our economy.”

She added: “London Fashion Week shines a spotlight on our talented British designers and I’m proud to see its reputation continue to go from strength to strength. As she plays host to a coterie of London Fashion Week designers and selected press ‘at home’ tomorrow night, all attention will be diverted to which lucky designer Cameron will choose to wear. At last season’s event she opted for a Christopher Kane skirt and Emilia Wickstead top, so perhaps it’s Pilotto’s turn for an airing this time around. In which case, may we be so bold as to suggest the chic, slightly figure-hugging dress with elbow-length sleeves and graphic rope print from today’s show? – Telegraph
