UET entrance test leaked outLAHORE: The entry test of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) was annulled, and the date for the new entry test will be announced later.

Some students said that the entry test paper had been leaked out and many of them had the questions of the entry test on written papers. A student claimed that the son of a UET professor had sold the papers for a price of as much as Rs 200,000 and then he also made a phone call in front of the media to one of the people involved in selling the papers to provide proof to the authorities.

UET Vice Chancellor (VC), Muhammad Akram, talking to journalists during the entry test, said that some people were talking about the leakage of the paper for selfish reasons, however, under pressure he called for a meeting of the UET management, when it surfaced that a portion of the paper had actually been leaked out. However, later he accepted that the paper had been leaked out. The meeting with the VC in the chair decided to annul the entry test held earlier and a new date should be announced.

Entry tests for admission in session 2011 were held in ten examination centres set up in different cities, including Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Quetta and Taxila under the auspicious of UET. More than 41,000 candidates had appeared for the 4,000 seats available. In Lahore alone, 4,000 candidates (male and female) had appeared in the test at UET.
