LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, on Monday, said that all-out resources would be provided to the King Edward Medical University (KEMU) for making it one of the best institutions of the world.He was addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the new building of KEMU. The CM said that the government attached high priority to the uplift of health sector and provision of medical facilities to the masses. He said that a historic package of Rs 5.2 billion had been announced for young doctors, paramedical staff and nurses.He said that due to unsatisfactory performance of rural and basic health centres in the far-flung and backward areas of the province, six mobile health units equipped with modern treatment facilities had started operating in the flood-hit areas while 50 more would be imported this year. – Dailytimes
