MADINAH: Madinah Gov. Prince Abdul Aziz bin Majed will sponsor on Tuesday the graduation ceremony of the 47th batch of graduates from the Islamic University in Madinah, rector Muhamamd bin Ali Al-Oukala has announced. He said the graduates came from 160 countries around the world.”We are proud to teach foreign students Arabic and the moderate Islamic religion so that when they go back home they become ambassadors of virtue and preachers for correct Islam,” the rector said.Dean of students’ affairs Abdul Aziz bin Mabrouk said there would be 1685 graduates with various specialties from the university, which was established about 50 years ago to teach Islam and Arabic.He said the batch would consist of holders of BA, master’s and PhD degrees and added that a number of training sessions were held to qualify them for the labor market and to be preachers of Islam.Dean of admission Obaid bin Ali Al-Obaid said the university’s senate agreed to accept more than 6,000 students starting from the next academic year. – Arabnews
