KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan on Thursday performed the inauguration of three departmental buildings at the NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi.The buildings were of the Department of Metallurgical Engineering, Department of Polymer and Petrochemical Engineering and the Department of Chemical Engineering.An official of NED University said that these three departmental buildings have been constructed at the NED Campus at a cost of about Rs 175 million.He said that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has made the funding available for these buildings.Dr Khan, who is also the Chancellor of the public sector universities in the province, said on the occasion that along with maintenance of law and order, the promotion of education is also the priority of the government.He further pointed out that appropriate measures are being taken in this regard.The governor was of the view that concerted efforts would have to be made for the resolution of the problems. – Dailytimes
