LAHORE: Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Syed Raghib Abbas Shah on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf and briefed him about the progress on various projects being implemented in water and power sectors.
The prime minister directed WAPDA chairman for immediate redressal of the problems of Mangla Dam Raising and Neelum Jhelum Hydropower Project affectees. Underlining the significance of small and medium dams for socio-economic uplift of the backward and far-flung areas through development of irrigated agriculture. He directed the chairman to expedite construction work on these projects including Ghabir, Naulong and Nai Gaj. – DailyTimes
