LAHORE: As many as 60,000 new jobs will be created, directly or indirectly, with the completion of Bhalwal Industrial Estate, said Chairman Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company,S.M.Tanveer. He said this while addressing at the Pre-launch of Bhalwal Industrial Estate. On the occasion more than five investors and industrialists inked Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with Punjab Industrial Estates Development & Management Company. The event was organized by Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He said that eight industrial estates were being developed in Punjab in line with the vision of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.Chairman PIEDM said that Bhalwal, Sargodha and its adjoining area were producing more than 52pc citrus of Punjab but 60pc of the total quantity was going waste. “However, by setting up this industrial estate, the country would earn precious foreign exchange”, he said and added that 60,000 new jobs directly and indirectly will be created with the completion of Bhalwal Industrial Estate. He said that 280 industrial units will be set up in this estate and will generate Rs500 million annually as taxes for the government, stated a news release issued Monday. President Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gulzar A.Sheikh, Vice president FPCCI, Mian Amir Ata Bajwa, Secretary Industries Punjab, Dr. Shujat Ali, CEO of PIEDMC Gen(R) Javed Iqbal also spoke on the occasion. – Brecorder
