FAISALABAD: Russia is keenly interested to invest in mining and energy sectors in Pakistan, said Russian Consul General Andrey Vladimirovich Demidov.He said this while addressing a meeting at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) here on Tuesday. Mr. Demidov called for appropriate measures to promote bilateral trade relations between the two countries. He said that Russia is third largest market in the world in respect of leather, pharmaceutical, rice, fruits and other agriculture products.He said the country is importing seven lakh metric ton rice, pharmaceutical products worth 14 billion dollars and textile products worth 20 billion dollars every year. Pakistani exporters should get access to the Russian markets at the earliest, he added.Chairman Pakistan Russian Business Council of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Muhammad Farooq Afzal also addressed the meeting and highlighted the problems faced by the textile sector. Later, a memento of FCCI was also presented to Russian Consul General Mr. Andrey V Demidov. – Brecorder
