Qatar Airways will start international flights from three cities of Pakistan including Faisalabad to implement its slogan ‘One World’.

The international flights will not help the exporters to enhance their share in the world trade but also facilitate the business community with easy journey. This was stated by Mr. Ihab A. Sorial, Vice President Indian Subcontinent Qatar Airways, here on Thursday while talking to Engr.
Rizwan Ashraf, President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) as a prelude to the arrangement made for the inauguration of direct flights of Qatar Airways from Faisalabad to international destinations here from July 17, 2015. Sorial said “We will connect Faisalabad with 149 international destinations with professional expertise and hospitality”. The promotional fare would be offered during first month of this flight in addition to providing one-day trip to Doha at subsidized fare for members of FCCI, he added.

Sherif Kamal Ismail, General Manager-Pakistan, Qatar Airways said that he would arrange a presentation on connectivity of Faisalabad with international destinations through Qatar Airways within next week before the advent of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. He requested President FCCI to give him a list of 100-200 frequent travelers who would be invited to attend this event. This presentation may be held in Pearl Continental or Serena in consultation with FCCI, he added. Earlier, Engr. Rizwan Ashraf, President FCCI thanked Qatar Airways for starting direct flights from Faisalabad and said that FCCI had been demanding international flights from Faisalabad and upon their demand, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif sent the officials of Civil Aviation Authority to assess the future needs of this airport and lounge. He said that it had been decided that the passenger lounge would be expanded to accommodate the increased passenger traffic at this airport immediately after the start of international flights.

He said, “Share of Faisalabad in textile exports is six billion dollar and our exporters are frequent travellers”. They would appreciate direct international flight from Faisalabad and it was in this context that FCCI would love to work as brand ambassador of the Qatar Airways. Later Engineer Rizwan Ashraf presented a special memento of FCCI to Mr. Ihab A. Sorial as a mark of his visit to FCCI. – APP
