The Sindh government on Monday imposed a week-long ban on pillion-riding on motorcycles in the city as part of a set of security measures for the anti-polio vaccination campaign, said a spokesman for the home department.

The official said the ban would come into effect at midnight on Tuesday.

“The home department has under Section 144 CrPC [criminal procedure code] imposed a complete ban on pillion-riding on motorbikes from March 17 to 23 in Karachi,” he said.
