PM Nawaz to Listen to Public Complaints On Helpline

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will soon restart a helpline to directly listen to the complaints of people, Parliamentary Secretary of Interior Maryam Aurangzeb told Radio Pakistan on Monday.

Aurangzeb said implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) to counter terrorism is the foremost priority of the government to make the country a crad.

Answering a question, she said the government has no intention at this stage to restart issuing new arms licences. She pointed out that previous record of arms licenses is being corrected and digitised. Responding to a question, she said a comprehensive bill has been prepared for facilitation of people with disabilities. Aurangzeb said mobile SIMs verification is an important element of the NAP which will help improve security situation in the country.

She urged people to get their SIMs verified soon. Replying to a question, she said the government has no intention to shut or control madressahs. However, she said their registration is imperative. The interior secretary further said notices have been issued to 53 unregistered madressahs in the federal capital. She said registration of Afghan refugees is also being streamlined. She added that the premier is himself overseeing the implementation of the NAP.
