The elusive Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan chief Maulana Fazlullah, mastermind of the notorious Peshawar Army Public School massacre, has in a new video released today warned that he would carry out a “spectacular” attack to target children of Pakistani armymen.

Maulana Fazlullah, who had also masterminded the deadly attack on Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, has defended the Peshawar school massacre by saying that his men identified the children before killing them.

“Only children of armymen and not civilians were killed”, he claimed in the video. Maulana Fazlullah said:  “We attacked the school as it was the army’s camp area and their training centre. “If it was not an army camp then what were a brigadier and his soldiers doing there? “We are at war with the army – if they kill us and our people in fake encounters we will also kill them. “Our men attacked the school and killed children of army personnel – not civilians.

“They asked about their identity before killing them. “These people will always be our target and we will kill them in the streets, markets, everywhere. “If the army knows our situation – then we also know theirs. Army camps everywhere are our targets.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a reward of Rs 1 crore for clues leading to the arrest or death of Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan chief Mullah Fazlullah, a senior official said. The provincial government has prepared a list of 615 top TTP militants to be captured, and a combined reward of Rs 76 crore has been announced.
