Govt Asked Army Chief To Act As Mediator: ISPR

Pakistan military said that army chief General Raheel Sharif stepped in to diffuse the political crisis on government’s request. In a press statement, army said that “COAS was asked by the Govt to play facilitative role for resolution of current impasse, in yesterday’s meeting, at PM House.”

The statement comes hours after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that army chief was asked to play his role to resolve the political crisis by PTI Chairman Imran Khan and PAT leader Tahir ul Qadri. – SAMAA
