Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will meet Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari here at PM House on Wednesday (today). According to officials, the two leaders will discuss several key issues including mounting unease in civil-military relations, government’s policy regarding former military ruler Pervez Musharraf, peace talks with Taliban and Pakistan Protection Ordinance during the meeting. Former president will be flanked by party leaders Senator Raza Rabbani, Syed Khurshid Shah and Murad Ali Shah will.
Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid and Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar will accompany the premier in the meeting. This will be the second meeting between Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari since PML-N took over the power from Zardari’s PPP with an overwhelming election victory in May last year. The first meeting took place in January when they jointly inaugurated Thar coal power project.
