Nicole Scherzinger denies viewer claims she was drunk during X Factor… merely ‘getting into the disco spirit’ She sent Twitter into a frenzy on Saturday evening as she appeared in even higher spirits than usual leading many to speculate she may have turned to the bottle before the show.
But Nicole Scherzinger has denied she had been drinking before judging on the X Factor, with a spokesperson saying ‘she was just getting into disco spirit’. According to The Sun however, the 35-year-old had held a party in her dressing room before things kicked off as she was joined by her family who had arrived from Hawaii. And by the time she arrived in her judges seat the pretty brunette was clearly in the party mood and delighted the contestants and her fellow judges with her wacky comments. 
At one point she even failed to notice when host Dermot O’Leary turned to her and asked her to introduce her act. It took her at least a half a second to realise she was supposed to be speaking, which on live television appears a lot longer. As the show got underway it didn’t take long for viewers to comment on her somewhat erratic behaviour. One Twitter used known as Casey wrote: ‘Is Nicole Scherzinger drunk, or is this one of her strange accents she puts on?’ Another called Miguel Caycedo commented: ‘Is Nicole Scherzinger drunk right now? Serious q.’ 
And user Chelsea The Vamps added: ‘Sometimes I think that Nicole Scherzinger has been drinking before xfactor because the stuff she says sounds like drunk people talk.’ The Sun reports that show bosses were surprised by her behaviour which was more outrageous then usual and they sent members of staff to her aides to find out whether she had enjoyed a drink before the show. However insiders insisted that she has just been ‘excited’ to hang out with her family. There wasn’t any evidence of empty bottles in her dressing room afterwards.’ After the show which saw all three of her acts – Abi Alton, Hannah Barrett and Tamera Foster – perform well, Nicole hit the town with her family to go clubbing at The Cucko Club. Her mood wasn’t however so buoyant on Sunday night when her act Tamera found herself in the bottom two and was forced to sing against Kingsland Road. Fortunately however she was saved by the judges.
