Kanye West’s new album Yeezus topped the Official UK Album Chart on Sunday evening. The achievement comes just a week after his partner Kim Kardashian gave birth to a daughter – North.
The rapper will no doubt be delighted that his prolonged stay in Paris working on the album, during the reality star’s pregnancy, has paid off with a No.1.Yeezus is the 36-year-old’s sixth studio album and was only released on Tuesday of last week.It marks his first UK Number One album since Graduation in 2007 and his fourth Top 10 album over all.
Kanye raised eyebrows while making the album as he stayed in Paris leaving a heavily pregnant Kim, who gave birth five weeks early, to travel back and forth. The exciting album news comes after it was reported that Kanye proposed to Kim just days after they welcomed their first child, so the couple have plenty to celebrate.
Meanwhile Kanye is tipped to make his first red carpet appearance this coming Thursday since becoming a father. The rapper is expected to attend True Magazine’s birthday bash in Los Angeles with his good friend Jay-Z. A huge number of other rappers are also set to attend the invite-only party celebrating the hip hop publication’s 14th year anniversary at Hollywood hotspot Couture, including The Game, Rick Ross, Snoop Lion, Busta Rhymes, Nas, 50 Cent and Soulja Boy.
Aside from the upcoming party Kanye has reportedly called a halt to his busy schedule in favour of spending time with his newborn baby.A friend of the Kardashian family told People.com: ‘Kanye is already an incredibly present father. He’s very relaxed and comfortable. ‘They’re putting work aside right now to focus on the family. They’re in it 100%.’
The New Slaves hitmaker has moved in with Kim’s mother Kris Jenner and stepfather Bruce Jenner and will stay at their Hidden Hills, California, mansion for approximately six weeks while renovations are being completed on his new $9 million home with Kim.The reality TV star has also cleared her schedule and plans to enjoy some down time until the end of the summer. – DailyMail
