LAHORE: Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Thursday took oath of the office of the Punjab Chief Minister at a solemn ceremony held at the Governor House.
Punjab Governor Makhdum Syed Ahmad Mahmud administered the oath to Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who is elected to the office for the third consecutive term. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has been elected Punjab chief minister for the third time which is unprecedented in the parliamentary history of the province.
Conspicuous among those present were parliamentarians, PML-N leadership including Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Rana Sanaullah Khan, officers of the armed forces, US Consul General in Lahore Nina Maria Fite, foreign dignitaries, Provincial Chief Secretary Javed Aslam, a large number of PML-N workers and members of the civil society. PTI’s parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed also attended the ceremony. – APP
