KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that improvement in law and order, education and health sectors are the top most priorities of the PPP government, as more funds would be allocated in this regard in the next budget.
Congratulating the PPP candidates who won in Thar and Jacobabad re-poll, the CM said the people have again expressed their confidence in the PPP for its performance during the last government.PPP’s Faqir Sher Muhammad Bilalani has won National Assembly seat against the former Sindh CM Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, while PPP’s Noor Muhammad Shah Jilani defeated PTI’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the re-poll. Besides, PPP candidates Makhdoom Naimtullah and Dost Muhammad Rahimon also reached in the Sindh Assembly after winging two provincial constituencies of Thar. PPP’s Sardar Muqeem Khoso defeated Aslam Abro of the PML-N from Jacobabad on June 1.
The CM said that Arbab Rahim, who considered himself as king of Thar, suffered defeat in the re-poll. He said the success of the PPP candidates in Thar and Jacobabad proved that the people of Sindh have confidence in the PPP. He vowed the PPP would launch development projects all over the province especially in Thar, which remained neglected in the past governments.The CM said that law and order would be maintained from Karachi to Kashmore with new resolve as more funds would be earmarked in the next budget. Improvement in education and health sectors would also be the top most priority of the PPP government, he added.
MQM demands security for Katchi community residents.The MQM Coordination Committee condemned the occupation of Katchi community houses by alleged Lyari gang war criminals.According to reports, Lyari gang war criminals have occupied houses and established armed posts in Juna Kalri areas.In a statement on Sunday, the MQM said that police and others security agencies should take notice of the mater and provide security to residents of the area. It further demanded the authorities concerned to take immediate action against the Lyari gang war outlaws. – Nation
