The power couple attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala on Monday night, wearing classic evening attire for an event centred on pushing past established boundaries.The inaugural outing was for the Punk: Chaos to Couture themed bash, which encouraged attendees to draw their fashion inspiration from the history of punk rock.But the newly-minted lovebirds may have chosen the less than daring evening wear for good reason.
After dating for several months this is their first public appearance as an official couple, which could very well exhaust almost anyone’s courage for one night.Despite the conventional wardrobe, the pair could not be faulted for relying on old standards to carry them through the star-studded evening.The 38-year-old sportsman donned a straightforward black suit and tie with a simple white button down.
Lindsey, 28, wore a pure white gown, featuring sheer portions, which hinted at a more risque spirit lurking beneath the angelic appearance. Completing the professional skier’s ensemble were gold statement earrings that nicely complimented her blonde hair, which was tied into an ornate ponytail.While this was their first public outing, the two formally announced their relationship to their more than six million combined followers on Twitter and Facebook with a series of lovey-dovey professional photographs, in late March.
There didn’t appear to be any particular reason prompting the usually very private Tiger’s decision to go public with the budding romance.Once the most celebrated man in golf, Tiger dropped to number 58 in the sport after his extra-marital affairs went public in 2009.The father-of-two coughed up $110 million in his divorce settlement to former wife Elin Nordegren and was publicly shamed for his infidelities.Despite these setbacks Tiger was slowly working his way back to a top ten position in the PGA tour until Lindsey came along.
Once the two started dating the golf champion skyrocketed back to his former status as the best in the sport.In his posting, the sporting icon said he was pleased with his recent comeback wins on the US golf tour.’Something nice that’s happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn,’ he added.‘Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating.
