Islamabad: Fourteen-member interim federal cabinet took oath here on Tuesday however Dr Mushtaq Khan was not among fifteen members nominated by Caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso.
President Asif Ali Zardari administered oath to caretaker cabinet in a simple but graceful ceremony held here at Aiwan-e-Sadar (The Presidency).The Caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso, political personalities, foreign ambassadors and other officials attended the ceremony.
The interim cabinet comprises of Arif Nizami, Shahzada Jamal, Shahzada Ahsan Ashraf, Abdul Malik Kasi, Dr Sania Nishtar, Feroze Jamal Shah Kakakhel, Malik Siddique, Ahmer Bilal Soofi, Dr Musaddaq Malik, Maqbool Rahmatullah, Asadullah Mandokhel, Dr Younis Soomro, Sohail Wajahat Siddiqui and Mir Hassan Dhomki.
Dr Mushtaq Khan was absent from the ceremony and his empty seat was lifted minutes before the ceremony get started.Government sources said that Dr Mushtaq Khan working as Economic Adviser in State Bank of Pakistan therefore as per constitution government servant can not be part of the interim cabinet.Dr Mushtaq Khan was proposed to be given charge of finance ministry.The Caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso on Monday finalized names of 15-member interim federal cabinet.The interim cabinet includes seven members from Punjab, three each from Sindh and Balochistan and two ministers from Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. – OnlineNews
