LAHORE: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf Tuesday said the government attached high priority to development of dairy and livestock sector involving eight million families, which derived more than 35 percent income from it.
He was addressing Pakistan Dairy Industry Conference 2012 under USAID’s Entrepreneurs Project at a hotel, where Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa, Federal Minister for Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir Affairs Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Integration Samina Khalid Ghurki, State Minister for National Food Security and Research Moazzam Ali Khan Jatoi, US Ambassador Richard Olson and USAID Deputy Mission Director Jafri Beacon were prominent among others.The Prime Minister said the establishment of a separate Ministry of National Food Security and Research reflected the government’s resolve to mainstream the food security agenda in the public policy. – APP
