KARACHI, Oct. 5 (APP): Pakistan Bridge Federation (PBF) on Tuesday named a ten-member squad for the Commonwealth Nations Bridge Championship schedule to be held in Ghaziabad (India) from Oct. 23 to 29.National Champions Data Steel Pakistan team which finished 7th in the inaugural Asia Cup in China, will be fielding the same team in the week long event featuring over 50 nations.“This is the second big event after Bermuda Bowl World Bridge Championship and our open team hoping is to produce their best,” PBF President Tariq Rasheed Khan said while announcing the team.
Pakistan team included Rashid-ul-Ghazi, Tehsin Ali Gheewala, Javaid Khalid, Muhammad Saeed Akhtar and Javed Ahmed Miran. Ghulam Muhammad and Anwar Kizilbash are standbys.Tariq Rasheed will be the Chief de Mission/Non Playing Captain and Ameer Hasan will be the manager of the team.
Apart from Commonwealth Nations Bridge, Pakistan players will also be taking part in the HCL International Bridge Championship to be held at Noida, near New Delhi.
The Pakistan players which take part in HCL International event included Nuri Pasha, Sheikh Afzal Ahmed, Dilshad Ahmed, Shakeel Chandna, Abdul Khaliq, Asghar Abbas, Hassan Sajjad Rizvi, Maqbool Ahmed and F.A.Naeem.
