With her neat blonde chignon, bright pink lipstick and very low cut black dress, Katherine Heigl made for a striking sight as she stepped out at a charity event in Washington DC tonight.
The 33-year-old actress showed off her curves in the short sleeved ruched dress which she teamed with a chunky beaded necklace, polka dot tights and silver and black open-toed sandals.And the relaxed looking star smiled broadly as she made her way into the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute Gala where she and her husband musician Josh Kelley were being ‘honoured for their dedication and commitment to adoption and foster care issues.’
Looking dapper in a suit, Josh accompanied his wife to the event, and the couple happily posed together on the red carpet.Katherine and Josh are parents to two adopted daughters – Naleigh was adopted from South Korea in September 2009 at ten months old, while Adalaide Marie was adopted from Louisiana back in April this year from Louisiana.
The former Grey’s Anatomy star is a strong advocate of adoption and is adamant there are no rules as to how you create a family.She said: ‘I’ve always known I wanted to adopt and I fell in love with a man who was happy to have a family that included it,’ she told UK Hello magazine shortly after bringing Adalaide home. ‘I’ve never felt that there were any rules that applied to how you have a family.’
And the star said she was keen to add to her brood in the future.’I’d like two more, [Josh] thinks three’s a nice number, so we’ll see!’ Meanwhile, Katherine is currently preparing for the release of her new movie The Big Wedding.The film tells the story of a divorced couple who pretend they are still married to attend a family wedding.The movie has an all-star cast which includes Amanda Seyfried, Robert De Niro, Robin Williams and Ben Barnes, and is due to hit cinemas on October 26. – Dailymail
