Indian security forces are on alert today after a court backed Hindus in a long and bloody battle with Muslims over the ownership of a holy site.
The conflict over the site has set off communal riots in the past and India has sent hundreds of thousands of troops into the streets to keep order. Ravi Shankar Prasad, a lawyer for one of the parties in the suit, said the Ayodhya site will be divided between faiths.
