KARACHI: A famous and renowned designer Huma Ahmed has recently launched her designer lawn entitled ‘Mausummery’, through a three-day exhibition ‘The Pure Print Collection’ which was exhibited at the local hotel.
In keeping with the brands’ commitment to bringing high quality fabrics, versatile designs and vibrant colours, Mausummery’s pure print collection is a fusion of all three while retaining their principal philosophy of bringing individuality of style to each print.While talking to Daily Times, Ahmad said that she was launching 13 designs, perhaps best described as delicate, detailed and intricate works of art.In addition to the signature Mausummery lawn, chiffons and woven materials have also been introduced for the very first time within this collection. Further, the Mausummery by Ahmed Pure Prints Collection also offers wider width lawn with detailed embroideries and intricate borders, complimented with a variety of embellishments.
This summer collection is inspired by a diversity of cultures, with strong influences from vintage Victorian designs, ancient Al-Hamra architecture, Arabesque patterns and Kashmiri shawls resulting in a contemporary collection that draws from old world charm. The colours this season range from watermelon pink to aruba blues, from stark blacks to vibrant fuchsias complete with scarlet red and champagne touches.All of these designs were available at the exhibition in standard three-piece suits with added printed panels, motifs and borders, within the economical price range that has come to be expected by Mausummery’s customers.Mausummery head designer Ahmad said that the brand was launched after vibrant and colourful spring flower-in sync with the brand mantra, rediscover the beauty of colours. This inspiration and mantra remained a part of the Mausummery ethos till today, with focus on the variety and vibrancy of colours, she added.
She further said that during the last 15 years, she had constantly discovered and rediscovered her aesthetic by researching designs and colour trends in order to keep her designs fresh and accessible yet retaining their signature design style and for her, this year’s collection was about the fusion of cultures from around the world; a fusion that was represented in every aspect of the design of the borders, the piping, the embroideries and the fabric.A renowned social worker Nazneen Tariq, who was present on the occasion, while talking to Daily Times, commented that they were amazing designs, it was real Mausummery by Ahmed, people were dieing over it, adding that people could get fed up of her suits by wearing time and again but it would never lose it charm.
She further said that best thing of Ahmed’s designs was her simple print, for prints were not loud and they were wearable.Moreover, as introduced last year the Mausummery collection that based in their lawn prints, introduced a new collection this season with longer silhouettes, embroidered backs with a focus on designs on the printed panels.
