LAHORE: US Consul General Nina Maria Fite visited the operation center of ‘Origins’ clothing brand on Wednesday in support of women’s entrepreneurship in Pakistan and in the honour of International Women’s Day.
A woman-owned, founded, and operated company, ‘Origins’ is a well-known brand and manufacturer of garments and textiles for women in Lahore. The consul general met with Origins’ owner Ayesha Mansoor and visited her company’s facilities which employees several women, including in middle management positions. “During my time in the Punjab, I have met many female entrepreneurs. I am amazed by the variety of the companies they have started, ranging from textiles to farming, to pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing. These women, who in the face of adversity, have taken the risk to start businesses, create jobs, and contribute positively to Pakistan’s economy,” Fite remarked to the media. The consul general also wished “mubarak” to all the women of Pakistan in honour of International Women’s Day and encouraged all female entrepreneurs throughout Punjab to pursue their dreams and seek their fortune as active members of the economy. – Dailytimes
