President telephones Turkish counterpart

ISLAMABAD, Sep 29 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari telephoned Turkish President Abdullah Gul Wednesday night and thanked him for the support of Turkish government and people in the flood relief and rehabilitation efforts.The two leaders also discussed issues of bilateral interest and regional situation.Matters relating to starting Cargo train service between the two countries and the ongoing democratic process in Pakistan also came under discussion.President Zardari also thanked Turkish President on approving the nomination of Foreign Ministry Deputy Under-Secretary Engin Soysal as UN Special Envoy for flood hit Pakistan.
The Turkish President reiterated his government’s resolve to support Pakistan especially the democratic process initiated by the government in Pakistan and also emphasized that the Turkish government would continue to support Pakistan in its rehabilitation efforts in the flood affected areas – APP
