KARACHI: Municipal Commissioner KMC Matanat Ali Khan has said that a full-fledged campaign for recovery of about Rs 1.5 billion dues, outstanding for plots auctioned in various KDA schemes and townships, was being carried out during which allotment of defaulters’ plots would be cancelled.
This he said while chairing a meeting on land recovery at his office on Monday. Financial adviser, senior director Master Plan, district chief engineer, director recovery and director estate and enforcement attended the meeting.On this occasion, the commissioner directed all departments to improve their performance. It was decided at the meeting to initiate immediate operation on gradual basis for removal of all encroachments and illegal constructions on commercial plots.
In the first phase, action against the encroachments and illegal constructions will be taken on February 28 (today) in Korangi town, while all such structures will also be removed in Surjani town and North Karachi during the campaign.Khan has also appealed the citizens to pay their dues in time to avoid the cancellation of their plots. Over 50 city wardens are deputed to take part in the operation. – Dailytimes
