KARACHI: The first-ever single country exhibition of United Arab Emirates, UAE Expo 2011-Magnificent 7, will be opened on November 30, 2011 at Karachi Expo Centre.
According to organisers on Monday, the Minister of Foreign Trade United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi is leading a high profile delegation of top government officials and CEOs of conglomerates from seven Emirates for the three-day mega event.During an induction meeting held in the office of Ministry of Foreign Trade UAE in Dubai on Saturday, Sheikha Lubna said the purpose of her visit to Pakistan and holding of Magnificent 7 in the industrial and trading hub Karachi was to further promote investment and trade relations between the two countries.
The Magnificent 7 will target the manufacturing, trade, services, investment and tourism sectors with the purpose of identifying areas of common interest in these sectors and strengthening public and private sector ties between the two countries.The minister said the aim was to translate interactions into joint ventures and explore new avenues for investment between the two countries.She will be holding a series of meetings with high profile officials including Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Senior Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim as well with top businessmen and CEOs of Pakistani business houses for achieving this goal on the sidelines of Magnificent 7.
Head of the Trade Promotion Department at the Ministry of Foreign Trade UAE Mohammed Al Zouabi said the Expo was being held in cooperation with the UAE Consulate in Karachi and the Government of Pakistan and it would see the participation of various high level Pakistani officials including Pakistani Prime Minister, the Governor of the Province of Sindh and a number of Ministers and the chief executives of some of its most prominent businesses.An international conference on investment opportunities in Pakistan will also be held in collaboration with FPCCI on the second day on December 1, 2011 at Karachi Expo Centre.
UAE Consul General Karachi Suhail Bin Matar Al-Ketbi said more than 70 top businessmen from UAE and senior officials will be visiting the mega event and their hotels have been booked in Karachi.He said this exhibition would provide ample opportunities to the corporate sector of UAE and Pakistan to further reinforce bilateral ties.Chairman Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) Mohammed Al Romaithi, director ADNOC Shaikh Rashed Saud Rashed Al Shamsi, chairman Al Otaiba Group, Otaiba Saeed Ahmed Kalaf Al Otaiba, chairman Rotana Group Yousif Mohamed Ali Nasser Al Nowais, Rashed Mohammed Naser Almail al Zaabi of MOFT UAE, chairman of Al Ghurair Group and vice chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mohamed Omar Abdulla Balfaqeh Abdurahman Saif Ahmad Al Ghurair, CEO Julphar Saud Ali Al Neaimi and other prominent businessmen and senior government officials of UAE will accompany her in the delegation.Sheikha Lubna will also hold talks with top Pakistani officials focusing on strengthening commercial and investment cooperation between the two countries.
