Baloschistan Transport AssociationQUETTA: Increasing incidents of highway robberies had compelled the The Baloschistan Transport Association to adopt precautionary measures by installing satellite trackers to timely inform the local administration off robberies.

At least 500,000 trucks would be fixed with tracking system initially by transporters while the provincial government will set up a control room for monitoring. The above-mentioned plan was disclosed during the meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Ahmed Bakhash Lehri. A private firm has agreed upon providing satellite trackers at discounted rates. “The satellite tracker costs Rs 80,000 and would be provided at Rs 22,000 for each truck”, said Noor Ahmed Kakar, President of Transport Association quoting company’s official. According to the association, as many as 200 trucks had been taken away along with goods in armed robberies in Balochistan this year. – Dailytimes
