LAHORE: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Sunday constituted a high-powered committee to check unscheduled load-shedding in the country and providing relief to the masses. The decision was made during a meeting of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNAs from Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions at the Governor House here. The committee will be headed by Federal Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh to bring an end to unscheduled load-shedding. The Prime Minister has already directed the finance ministry to release Rs 25 billion to PSO and other companies so that more and more electricity could be produced and the masses had to face minimum power outages during Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr. – APP
