ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to extend the deadline given for the revalidation of old arms licences, issued by the Ministry of Interior, from August 31 2011 to September 30, 2011. In pursuance of instructions of Minister of Interior Rehman Malik regarding revalidation of old arms licences, the matter was reviewed at a high-level meeting held on Tuesday.
The meeting was chaired by Rehman Malik at Ministry of Interior and attended by interior secretary, NADRA chairman and other concerned officials. All district level offices of NADRA will accept requests for revalidation. Arms licenses holders have been requested to bring the following with them while visiting NADRA offices: Original national identity card, original arms licence, application form duly filled in. Licence fee has been waived and only a nominal fee worth Rs 500 will be charged. – Dailytimes
