Alleged illegal breaches in River Indus

Many prominent citizens including Mr. Fakhar-ud-Din G. Ibrahim and Deputy Chairman Senate, Mir Jaan Muhammad Jamali have formally approached the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Pakistan to take appropriate action on the alleged illegal breaches in river Indus by influential personalities in the Province of Sindh. In these communications, and in other news reports, it has been reported that the un-authorized diversion of flood water by influential land owners in Sindh have caused unprecedented damage to people and property in parts of rural Sindh and Jaffarabad District of Balochistan. The Supreme Court is processing these reports in view of the gravity of the allegations as per the relevant provisions of the Constitution of Pakistan – Supremecourt
