Complaint cell against corrupt police officials

KARACHI: Sindh Provincial Police Officer (PPO) Wajid Ali Durrani constituted a complaint cell and made Deputy Superintendent Police Zafar Iqbal in-charge of the cell to curb illegal confinement and torture of innocent citizens, abuse of law by corrupt police officials, says a press release on Tuesday. PPO has also issued a standing order (257/2011) in this regard.Citizens can register their complaints via fax, registered post and telephone against police officials, who are asking for bribe, aiding corruption etc.In order to take action on complaints, some honest and reliable police officials have been posted at the cell. They will conduct a confidential inquiry as well as go to the spot and conduct a formal inquiry against the corrupt officials, and if found guilty, would deal with them with an iron hand.
