ISLAMABAD: ISI Chief Lt Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha expressing his reservations over the manner in which US unilateral action was conducted to kill Osama Bin Laden said that the CIA betrayed us.According to sources he expressed these views in his meeting with chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee Senator John Kerry.Matters related to tense relations between ISI and CIA, US forces unilateral operation against OBL and other issues were discussed in length.
Sources told that during the meeting ISI chief clearly expressed his reservations over the manner in which the US conducted the operation without taking the ISI on board. He said that ISI has played a major role in breaking the back of Al-qaeda and still we were kept in dark about the operation against OBL and by posing no confidence in Pakistan our professional capabilities were doubted.ISI chief further said that ISI always provided timely and important information to CIA however still CIA betrayed us while CIA chief Leone Panetta attitude was also very aggressive.He further said that no compromise will be made on the country’s sovereignty at any cost.Sources added that Senator John Kerry tried his level best to ease out tensions between CIA and ISI but in vain as with the look of the things he failed to gain confidence and success in this regard. – Onlinenews
