LAHORE : Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Ijaz Chaudhry Thursday administered oath to 15 regular and 11 additional judges of the court.Syed Kazim Raza, Syed Iftikhar Hussain, Chaudhry Mohammed Younus were among the judges that took oath of the office in a simple but dignified ceremony.President Asif Ali Zardari had signed a summary of appointment of the judges on the advice of the Prime Minister.Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) administered the oath to the newly added judges.
The oath-taking ceremony, held at the judicial Academy, started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. The permanent judges who took oath included Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh, Justice Najmul Hassan, Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Ijazul Hassan, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Sheikh Ahmad Farooq, Justice Chaudhary Shahid Saeed, Justice Rauf Ahmad Sheikh, Justice Ijaz Ahmad, Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan, Justice Shahid Hameed Dar, Justice Muhammad Anwarul Haq, Justice Sardar Shamim Khan and Justice Mazhar Iqbal Sindhu.Eleven additional judges, appointed for a period of one year, also took oath. The additional judges included Justice Kazim Raza, Justice Abdul Wahid Khan, Justice Iftikhar Hussain Shah, Justice Abdus Sattar Asghar, Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Younas, Justice Mahmood Maqbool Bajwa, Justice Syed Ijaz Shah, Justice Ameenud Din Khan, Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti, Justice Iftikhar Ibrahim Qureshi and Malik Shahzad Ahmad. – Onlinenews
