LAHORE: Official website of the Punjab Police has been made operational as per the directives of the Punjab Police Inspector General, Javed Iqbal.The website was redesigned by PHQ Additional Director (Computers) Shaheen Khalid who was assisted by the Punjab Information Technology Board.According to an official handout issued on Thursday, the address of the website is http://www.punjabpolice.gov.pk.
Information regarding history of the Punjab Police, three levels of recruitment in police department, police initiatives, public services, crime statistics, news room and safety tips are available on the site.The Punjab Police Rules and Regulations and other information is also available under downloads. The website also provides information about the contact numbers and fax numbers of all the sectional heads at PHQ along with those of CCPO, all RPOs, CPOs, DPOs of the province. Details relating to the numbers of women police stations in the province can also be obtained from the website.Also, the external links of the websites of Federal Investigation Agency, Sindh Police, Islamabad Police, EDHI, NADRA, 1124 Punjab Highway patrol and Rescue 1122 can be accessed on the website’s home page.The most important feature of the website, which could be helpful for the public is the section of e-complaints and e-suggestions. The complainant can have his/her grievances redressed on a much quicker note through this facility.
