LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), as part of its ongoing Lahore Shopping Festival, is arranging a Vintage Car Rally in the city today (Tuesday), the purpose of which is to create awareness amongst the young generation about classic car models.The rally would commence from the Liberty Chowk at 3:00 pm and after passing through the Main Boulevard and the Jail Road will culminate in front of the LCCI building, said Trafco Tracking Chief Executive Tahir Malik, who is also sponsoring the event, during a press conference on Monday.
Malik claimed that this would be the most interesting event of the eight-day shopping festival.Some other activities that are a part of the festival include bicycle rally, exhibition, and a Qirat competition. “For the first time ever such a car rally is being held in the city and a display of old cars around 50-year-old would attract the interest of a large number of people,” he said, adding that until now 35 people have registered themselves as participants of the rally.Malik said his organisation would continue sponsoring such healthy activities in the future too as this is its corporate social responsibility. He also informed that the Punjab government is providing full security throughout the route of the rally. Meanwhile, he appreciated the efforts of LCCI President Shahzad Ali Malik and Senior Vice President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad for organising such events that are a source of healthy entertainment for the citizens.
