KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at the Port Qasim where two ships scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and edible oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Sunday, February 27th.Meanwhile, four more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy remained at 65% at the Port on Sunday where a total of eight ships namely, Maersk Missouri, Christenia, Wales-II, Protector, Sea Baisen, M.V Split and Anichkov Bridge are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, urea and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.A cargo volume of 83,036 tonnes comprising 41,137 tonnes imports and 41,899 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2883 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.Two ships Hurst Point and Maersk Missouri sailed out to sea on Monday morning before 08:00 a.m.Two ships Al Salam II and Gem Of Dahej carrying diesel oil and chemicals were expected to take berths at FOTCO Terminals and EVTL Terminals respectively on Monday, February 28th – APP
