PESHAWAR: Mr. and Junior Mr. Pakistan Bodybuilding contests will be held at District Badin, Sindh from February 26-27, 2011 as desired by Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza. This was stated by senior member of Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation Tariq Pervez while talking to APP here on Thursday during departure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa team to Badin. Tariq Pervez, who is also treasurer of (PBF) said that all arrangements have already been kicked off to hold the event a memorable.It is a good opportunity for youth of District Badin, to learn well from the skills of the prominent musclemen of the country to be competing in the prestigious event in Badin, Tariq Pervez added.Tariq Pervez, who is also a qualified international judge and represented Pakistan in Thailand recently, said that Home Minister Sindh Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza is eager to hold the event in District Badin.He said during his meeting with the President of the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (PBF) Naveed Akram Cheema Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Mirza expressed willingness to hold the event in remote district in order to promote the game among the youth of the area.It would the first occasion that the event organizing in a remote district of Sindh. Tariq Pervez disclosed that the event is carrying prize money of Rs. 0.5 million. He said it is expected that Dr.Fehmida Mirza, Speaker of the National Assembly and President Asif Ali Zardari would grace the occasion as guests at the closing and prize distribution ceremony on February 27.A total of 200 plus musclemen from 12 different unites like Pakistan Army, Wapda, Railways, HEC, Islamabad, FATA and Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and host Sindh in six categories for Mr. Junior Pakistan comprising 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, and above 75kg besides 10 categories for Mr. Pakistan including 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg, 85kg, 90kg, 95kg and above 95kg would compete.He said that the weights on February 25, Judgment on February 26 and the show will be held on February 27. Tariq, who is also Secretary General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bodybuilding Association, is hopeful about the performance of KP musclemen, specially in the junior categories. He said Salman Khan won gold medal for KP in 65kg weight in the 31st National Games and hopefully he would succeed in retaining the same performance.
He said a total of 32 players, 12 for the junior Mr. Pakistan and 20 for the Mr. Pakistan contests. He also lauded the efforts of the President of the association Haji Muhammad Ibrahim for extending all out support.Bakht Nazir, Hafeez Khan, Salman, Rohullah, Ikran Shah, Asif Atiq, Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Sajid, Zeeshan, Hizullah, Shahid Ali, and Ahmad Khan for Junior Mr. Pakistan while Zahoor, Khalil, Abbas Alam, Miraj, Amjad Rahman, Ghala Abbas, Mombar Khan, Muhammad Asif, Muhammad Ayaz, Fakhar Zaman, Hamid Khan, Ayub Khan, Muhammad Fareed, Saeed Muhammad, Waisal Khan, Muhammad Ilyas, Fazal Khan, Hashim Khan, Aziz Ahmad and Nazir Ahamd.
