LAHORE: The four-day Annual Royal Palm Floodlit Cricket Tournament endorsed by Coke, Highland, GNC and FR Cables took off at the superbly lit cricket arena of the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club.At the end of the first day, four out of the 16 teams, Warriors, Lahore Eagles, Giants and Punjab Warriors stood eliminated after some fascinating battles with the winning teams, like Lahore Strikers, Punjab Kings, Lions and Royal Eagles.
Dejection was visible among the losers while the winners look forward to show heroics during the quarter-finals on Thursday (today). The great timers of the ball on the first day were Muhammed Ahsan (strikers), Shoaib Shams (Punjab Kings), Faizan Chaudry (Lions) and Ejaz Ahmed (Royal Eagles).On the second day Royal Vikings face Indus Kings, Lahore Kings will be up against Royal warriors, Wing Chair Team will oppose Punjab Strikers and Punjab Eagles battle it out against Indus Warriors. The quarter finals will be contested on Thursday and semifinals and finals on Friday.
