SINGAPORE: The Malaysian government is hoping to muster up to 50,000 British-based nationals to support their athletes at next year’s London Olympics. Youth and Sports Minister Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the ministry would distribute and sell T-shirts and memorabilia portraying Malaysian images ahead of the 2012 Games, state news agency Bernama reported. “There are about 12,000 students and about 38,000 more (Malaysians) working or living there,” he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur. “The ministry will try to gather them and form a group of supporters,” he said, adding that sponsors would be sought to provide promotional products – Dailytimes
