Naveed Iqbal hires killers for parents: CCPO

LAHORE:The Lahore CCPO Aslam Tareen has said that Naveed Iqbal confessed to police that he had hired killers to murder his parents.Talking to mediamen Tuesday, he said that Naveed had hired two killers- Abbas and Amin, and took them to his parents’ house while introducing them as house servants.On Naveed’s indication, Abbas caught his father, Abdul Hameed a retired police DIG, and suffocated him to death while pressing a pillow on his mouth, and in the same way, Amin killed his mother, the CCPO said.

Later, they fled away from the scene taking a briefcase filled with currency notes amounting to Rs 163,000, he added.Aslam Tareen disclosed that Naveed was an unproductive child of the DIG, who had purchased a flat for him in Sahdarra area, besides giving him Rs 1.6 million cash.However, Naveed did not shun his bad habits and wasted all the money, and even resorted to taking loans from the local people.When the situation became unmanageable for him, the CCPO said that Naveed plotted against his parents, assuming them as millionaires.The CCPO said that Naveed and Abbas have so far been arrested, while the police teams are raiding to nab the third culprit, Amin.Aslam Tareen also applauded the efforts of the police team for investigating case on scientific lines – APP
