Karachi: Shipping activity remained normal at the Port where three ships carrying containers, diesel oil and edible oil were berthed at Qasim international containers terminal, Fotco terminal and liquid cargo terminal respectively on Sunday. Meanwhile three more ships carrying containers, furnace oil and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.Berth occupancy was managed at 45% at the Port on sunday where a total of five ships namely M.V Maersk Missouri, M.V Yon Phung, M.V Lagonda, M.V Kihada and Chem Road Oita are currently occupying berths to Ioad, offload containers, sugar, wheat, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 87,300 tones comprising 78,300 tanes imports and 9,000 tones exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2182 containers (TEUS) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.Four ships Maersk Missouri, Chem Road Dita, M.T Kihada and Yon Phung Ho are expected to sail on Monday.Three ships CSAV Romeral, Argent Aster and Scotia Spirit carrying containers, edible oil and furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT, LCT and Fotco respectively on Monday – APP
