Rs100m to be distributed among GB flood survivor

GILGIT: The government of Gilgit-Baltistan will distribute Rs100 million among those who were affected by the flash floods last year.Officials of the Zakat department told this correspondent on Saturday that about Rs100 million was lying in the accounts of the department which was meant for needy and deserving people of the area.The sources said that the people affected by floods were in a very bad condition and required urgent assistance and this amount was to be paid to them so that they could make both ends meet.The official sources said that the concerned authorities had been asked to make arrangements so that speedy disbursement of the money could be ensured.They said that the lists were being acquired from the district administrations so that most deserving people could be given this amount in accordance with a proportionate mechanism – Dawn
