PESHAWAR, Dec 23: Justice Abdul Aziz Kundi took oath as permanent judge of the Peshawar High Court here on Thursday. Chief Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan administered the oath.
Justice Kundi, who was appointed as additional judge of the high court in Sept 2009, was appointed permanent judge of the court by the president on the recommendation of the Judicial Commission under Article 193 of the Constitution.
Justice Kundi took oath in a simple ceremony held at Court Room No.1. The ceremony was attended by Advocate General Asadullah Chamkani, president of Peshawar High Court Bar Association Syed Attique Shah, its general secretary Ameenur Rehman and other lawyers.
Interestingly, only seven days are left to the retirement of Justice Kundi as he will attain superannuation on Dec 30, 2010. — Bureau Report – Dawn
